I discovered the shampoo years ago, when I was having a terrible time with my psoriasis. I read about it on the psoriasis website in the blogs. One of the blogs recommended how to use it this way, and I was desperate enough to actually do it. It worked. It said to shampoo your scalp twice today using this method:
    1. Wet hair and massage a quarter size blob of shampoo into your scalp, gently lifting the loose flakes with the tips of your fingers. Let shampoo sit for 10 minutes, and then rinse.
    2. Repeat.
Do this in the morning and the evening every day for two weeks. You should start seeing some improvement. After that go to three or four times a week, until you get it under control. Continue to use as needed.
I was so grateful that the scabbing and itching finally stopped, and it actually went into remission so to speak. I am having a flareup again, so I am going back to the system. For anyone who has had psoriasis like this, you know how miserable it can be. I wanted to write this so that it might help someone else. Good luck.

For people that comment on the smell, this is coal tar. You could seal your driveway or wash your hair. This is no frou frou shampoo. BUT that’s what it takes to get big results for big problems. I was having a horrific case of psoriasis on my head. Not to be gross but coming off in chunks, not flakes. I was using tea tree which helps normal years but wasn’t doing jack this year. After my BF actually captured a picture, I freaked. It looked as bad if not worse than it felt!!! Action mode. A bottle of T-Sal, this, and another wash with tea tree. I did this three days, using all products, and it was 99% gone. I’m now down to every other day since it’s a drying combo but it works for severe psoriasis. I can wear dark colors and ditch the hats now!!!
For those of you that suffer, you know how miserable it is both physically and mentally. While this is the magic, I do highly recommend the saliclyic acid wash first to start breaking it down, this to tear it apart, and a tea tree wash and condition for both the soothing and nice smelling properties. I also use one of the massaging scrub brushes to get all up in there.

After two days of using this, the small patch on the back of my neck, along my hair line, was 90% clear, stopped flaking, and was almost free of redness. After two more uses, it was gone. I have continued to use this every few days, when I feel a flare up coming, and it’s definitely done the trick. I used to use Neutrogena’s version of the coal tar shampoo, and it never worked for me, but this stuff is magic. For people complaining about the smell, it’s not pleasant, kind of smells like an auto body shop, but I only use it on a small portion of my hair, rinse well after, and apply conditioner so it’s not anything I notice after I’m out of the shower. You also get used to the smell. I highly recommend this shampoo and it’s saved me a costly trip to the dermatologist.
